Intern Teachers

Meeting Credential Requirements Through Intern Teaching

The Pathways to Professionalism Intern Grant Program assists and facilitates current and future educators through the credential process.

Single Subject Internship
A single-subject intern is an employed teacher who is supervised for six quarters by university faculty. Candidates interested in an internship take courses at the CSU San Bernardino or Palm Desert campus. Interns must have completed subject matter competence (SMC) prior to admission. Supervision is completed while employed by one of the cooperating school districts.

Multiple Subject Internship
The multiple-subject program option is completed over 6 quarters (18 months) through 60 credits of university coursework while candidates are employed on an Intern Credential by one of the cooperating school districts. Multi-subject candidates may take their courses at the San Bernardino main campus, Palm Desert Campus, or at Victor Valley Community College.

The Pathways to Professionalism Intern Grant Program is co-sponsored by the California State University San Bernardino and the Riverside County Office of Education. Additional information on the Intern Program is available on our partner website. Links to these resources are below.
