Education Specialist Induction

The Education Specialist Induction Program offers a depth of experience that challenges the Special Education teacher by fostering critical reflection, extending understanding, and allowing for meaningful integration of theory and practice.

CTI Induction programs provide a structure that supports the success of new special education teachers. Candidates are assigned a Reflective Coach who has a similar special education credential. The induction program’s mission is to propel special educators forward beyond the functional facets of teaching to more advanced knowledge and reflective thinking about their role in providing effective instruction and cultivating an environment for student success.

CTI offers a path to a clear Education Specialist credential for candidates with authorizations in Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate disabilities and / or Moderate/Severe disabilities. Candidates who hold either a preliminary or Level I credential and meet program eligibility requirements may participate in the Ed Specialist Induction Program.

Candidates holding both General Education and Special Education credentials may clear both concurrently in our program.

Eligibility:

  • Special Education teaching assignment or setting with access to instruct special education students on a regular basis and case management responsibilities that aligns with the credential specialty area.
  • Level I or Preliminary education specialist credential.
